Last month I was dealing with a very sudden and painful back/hip issue and Sean was critical in helping me get through it. I was at a point where I could barely walk and Sean was incredibly attentive, patient, and accommodating - helping me onto the acupuncture table (i.e. practically lifting me) and allowing things to move at an appropriate pace. At a time when even prescription pain meds and muscle relaxers offered little help, I felt significant relief, reduced pain, and increased mobility after each session. Sean was both incredibly knowledgable and a great communicator, clearly guiding me through everything that he was doing. Lastly, while I only received acupuncture from Sean, I initially spoke with Uzi when I first contacted their practice. He spent almost 15 minutes on the phone with me, carefully listening and trying to understand my needs/condition. It truly felt like I was speaking with someone who cared and wanted to help me heal.

I cannot say enough good things about Uzi Chen (the only person I have seen there personally) and the care I have received by him. Heat, electrical stimulation, and needling were used. Honestly, I'd be willing to build him a shrine. I have a herniated lumbar disc that is chronically painful, but like clockwork, goes out every 2 years when I lift something too heavy. In 2021, I did just that and it was the worst one I've ever experienced, I could not stand upright, and had difficulty moving in any direction. It caused me to lose sleep, work hours, and I was unable to even get up out of bed without a major effort. Uzi was kind and respectful from the start, building good rapport and trust. I had only had ear acupuncture in the past and was very nervous. After a slow and steady first session, I was able to stand upright leaving the office, it felt like magic. 4 sessions later I was feeling back to normal. I now go to him as maintenance and whenever any pain pops up. At one point he was also able to add additional points for anxiety. HIGHLY recommend, he has truly changed my view on my back issues and I know I have an attainable resource when my chronic issue flares up.

Dr. Uzi Chen is phenomenal, and he is helping me to regain a fulfilling quality of life!! I experienced very poor outcomes following total knee replacement surgeries which left me in intense chronic pain, and less than 90 degrees of flexion due to arthrofibrosis (excessive scar tissue) in both of my knees. After four years of continuous physical therapy, surgeries, etc., I rarely left my house, barely could walk after 3pm, and had trouble sleeping because of the intense pain and restricted range of motion. After just a few of Uzi’s treatments, I experienced significant pain relief for the first time in years. Uzi is a highly skilled, intuitive, creative and caring practitioner. Within weeks, I was able to push harder during PT. My pain has decreased and my strength has increased. More importantly -- I regained hope!! Uzi challenges himself to create new forms of treatment and he challenges me to create new goals. In fact, I just fulfilled my far-fetched goal to travel to Europe (which I would not even have considered 6 months ago)!! I have no idea how he does it, but I’m totally amazed by Uzi’s skill and energy!!!

On the recommendation of a friend, I went to see Sean Davis following a recent sports injury to my low back. I have had back pain and SI joint issues off/on for over 20 years following a car accident and have tried injections, oral medications, chiropractic, physical therapy etc. with most only offering temporary or partial relief. I have been so impressed with Sean's attention to diagnostics and treatment and have had amazing results. The first time I got off the table I could immediately walk more upright and could swing my legs through my hip joints more fluidly. I have so much less pain and Sean is giving me recommendations to get stronger and try to prevent future injuries as well. I would give him 10 stars if I could.

I had really intense pain in my elbow, and couldn't figure out what was causing it, or how to alleviate it. I tried telemedicine calls, but they didn't really help, and I couldn't get an in-person appointment with a specialist for 1-2 months. Thankfully a friend referred me to this clinic - Dr Uzi was awesome! He was able to quickly evaluate the problem, and treat me right away. A few weeks later, and I'm completely pain free. Dr. Uzi Chen was fantastic. He helped alleviate any pain I had in my shoulders and knees while loosening up the surrounding muscles to prevent any more pain or injury. He is very caring and always made sure that I was comfortable. This was my first acupuncture experience and I would absolutely recommend coming here for anyone that wants to improve their body.

I went to see Dr. Chen at SD Sports Acupuncture for a sports injury to my neck. My range of motion was limited, I had a pain in neck/upper back and sleeping about 4hrs a day (due to the pain). After 2 sessions I noticed a great improvement and continued with 4 more treatments. Dr. Chen is very polite and cares about the wellness of his patients. Highly recommended.

Uzi Chen is a truly special practitioner and person. His professional passion and precision combined with his natural compassion and intuition is a package that is hard to find (as a chronic pain posterperson I can testify). Go see this man asap.

Sean is absolutely amazing in treating my back pain due to a sports injury. I have gone through five different ways trying to fix it (two different PT, did weight train with trainer, another acupuncture) that either doesn't work or only relieve the pain temporarily, and I was told it would be a hard one to fix because of how old the injury was (had this injury ~2yrs ago before this treatment). And then I found this place - and with the treatment I was able to recover ~95% and go back to normal activities without pain. Sean is very careful and detailed in evaluating the injury, and is very patient in explaining. Also Uzi is a great company in the waiting room too :D. 10 out of 10 highly recommend this place.

I had a great experience with Dr. Uzi Chen! Would recommend for anyone experiencing lower back pain. Much more scientifically-based than other acupuncturists. And it's great that he works on Saturdays as well to help with busy schedules.

I've had chronic neck pain for several years and have tried several rounds of physical therapy and other treatments. Recently, several people suggested that I try acupuncture. I googled acupuncture near my work office and found San Diego Sports Acupuncture. It was super easy to verify that they took my insurance and book an appointment online. Obviously, I wouldn't be saying all of this if my experience hasn't been terrific. I've been working with Uzi for about 3 months and my neck hasn't felt this consistently pain-free for over 5 five years! I can't recommend Uzi enough.
